A stitch in time saves nine…

Our name, Saves Nine, reflects the idea that making better choices now prevents waste later. By choosing well-made, long-lasting pieces, we can buy less, spend less, and tread a little lighter on the planet. This principle guides how we run our business. We choose craftsmanship over convenience, prioritising a ‘slow fashion’ approach. We’re not here to lecture about sustainability (we know the most sustainable option is not to buy at all), but we hope to offer an honest, accessible alternative to fast fashion. 

For us, polished claims about sustainability don’t mean much unless they’re backed up with evidence. That’s why our imagery focuses less on idealised lifestyles and more on how our boxers are actually made. We stay close to our supply chain and don't shy away from asking difficult questions, so we understand each stage properly rather than outsourcing responsibility. 

A note on dyes…

We use GOTS certified or AZO free dyes to blockprint our cotton and rather than forcing colour onto fabric using harsh chemical binders, we only work with printers who use safer fixation methods. This is essential for the safety of the dyers and local waterways, not to mention kinder on the skin for the wearer.

This is also why we ask you to wash our boxers at 30°C. Lower-impact dyes behave differently to heavily stabilised, chemical-laden alternatives. Cooler washes help preserve colour while using significantly less energy than standard 40°C cycles.
